A hand-painted identity,
built to last digitally.
M&N Guest House is a welcoming accommodation on Caye Caulker — one of Belize's most beloved island destinations, known for its calm turquoise waters, unhurried pace, and its famous motto: "Go Slow." The guest house had already built a reputation through word of mouth and a loyal returning clientele.
The brand, however, lived entirely on a hand-painted sign. There were no digital files — no logo the owners could send to a printer, drop onto a Facebook page, or use when listing the property on booking platforms. The identity existed only in the physical world, and the physical world alone.
The brief was precise: don't reimagine the brand — preserve it. Take what was painted by hand with care and character, and recreate it digitally with the same level of craft. Every letter, every proportion, every visual element faithfully reconstructed for the modern platforms a thriving guest house needs.
Without source files or original artwork to work from, the only reference was the painted sign itself. Fonts were identified by eye, elements were traced, and the entire mark was rebuilt vector-by-vector.
